Could you create and facilitate self-paced modules as part of NEUROMANCERS in-development curriculum?

👀At a glance…

👉🏿Reports to: Aiyana Goodfellow, Executive Director.
🤝🏾Working with: Other Module Developers.
🌍 Location: Remote – accepting internationally, with strong preference for UK-based applicants.
📝 Contract: Freelance. Project-based.
Deadlines: Provide module outline by mid-November, developed draft by mid-December, and final version by early January.
🤑Pay: £400 fee per completed module, which covers up-to 20 hours total (organisational flat rate of £20ph).

About the Role 🤔

As Module Developers, you will create and facilitate self-paced modules as part of NEUROMANCERS in-development curriculum.

Each module will be between 1.5hrs – 2hrs long. Your module must include video presentations which can be accompanied by quizzes, resources (PDFs or links), and additional activities. NEUROMANCERS will support with technical elements of your module and give development feedback to ensure the module is in alignment with our values. You'll have an opportunity to promote / boost your own existing work or advocacy within the module.

Experience 🦉

We are seeking applications from individuals, organisations, and/or collectives who have lived experience or specialism related to the module.

Alongside the above, we expect all those working within NEUROMANCERS to be...

  • Self-identified as neurodivergent+

  • Organised, responsible, and reliable communicators

  • Able to navigate technology such as email, Canva, or web meetings

  • Aligned with NEUROMANCERS’ goals and values

  • Knowledgeable about non-clinical peer support practices, Disability Justice, prison, police, and psychiatric abolition, and the neurodiversity paradigm

  • Committed to anti-racism, LGBTQ+ rights, anti-speciesism, anti-ableism, and total liberation for all

The Modules 📚

Each module will explore common experiences, states, and coping mechanisms of people under the neurodivergent+ umbrella (e.g., self-injury) and how one can effectively support someone going through this (e.g., harm reduction techniques).

Modules will be in alignment with neurodivergent-affirming, non-pathologising, consent-led, abolitionist, and trauma-informed practice.

The modules have been outlined below. You can apply to create more than one module.

The Modules:

  1. Crisis Support

  2. Suicidality + Self-Injury

  3. Plurality + Disassociation

  4. Navigating the Sensory + Social

  5. Heightened Emotional States (incl. Anxiety; OCD/Rumination; and Depression)

  6. Psychosis + Altered States (incl. Mania; Psychosis; Hearing Voices; Seeing Things; ‘Paranoia’)

  7. Addiction + Harm Reduction

🤝🏾Working with: Volunteer Community & Care Programming Coordinator.
🌍 Location: Remote – accepting UK-wide only
📝 Contract: Freelance. Project-based.
Hours: Five (5) hours per week for twelve weeks (WC: 3rd November 2025 – WC: 2nd February 2025. This excludes WC: 22nd and 29th of December.)

Deadlines: Provide communication strategy proposals by end of November, develop strategies through December, and test and finalise through January.

🤑Pay: £1200 total fee, which covers 60 hours total (organisational flat rate of £20ph). Paid monthly on receipt of invoice.

About the Role 🤔

As Communications Strategist you will design, research, and implement thoughtful communication systems across the organisation. You will especially focus on increasing the reach and accessibility of NEUROMANCERS’ work, with attention to our upcoming Peer Helpchat and Peer Solidarity Certificate Program projects. Your approach to marketing will centre on community-building, solidarity, and non-capitalist strategies that strengthen connection and engagement.

Experience 🦉

  • Developing and delivering successful communications strategies and/or campaigns.

  • Familiarity with community-based, grassroots, or non-capitalist approaches to marketing and outreach.

  • Experience with building engagement and following on digital communication platforms, effective content creation, and social media management.

  • Strong skills in writing, editing, and storytelling for a range of audiences.

Responsibilities ✏

  • Creating and implementing a communications strategy for NEUROMANCERS as an organisation.

  • Designing communications plans for the launch of new programs and initiatives.

  • Assessing and suggesting improvements for existing communications practices, workflows, and platforms.

  • Ensuring organisational messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with NEUROMANCERS’ values.
