Only A Few Days Left!

Your support is vital. We need you.

Hey beautiful people,

This is a letter from Founder + Executive Director, Aiyana, with a big plea to you, our wonderful newsletter subscribers.

I founded NEUROMANCERS when I was fifteen (and I’m now 20 years old!!! horrendous!!!) — it has been an exhausting, incredible, devastating, and life-affirming journey.

Running a youth-led, abolitionist mental health organisation is no easy feat and as fascism continues to rear its ugly head, this care work becomes ever-more urgent.

I cannot do it alone. I’m very lucky and grateful that this last year of NEUROMANCERS has been our best. It has been so because of the community we have continued to build.

I’m writing this letter to you because I’d love for you to join us in bringing about the worlds we deserve to live in. Being part of our volunteer community has been a life-saving experience for many. Joining us is a political commitment that makes space for your humanity. A site of hope that counters the absolute shite that this oppressive society piles onto us.

‘Volunteering’ is not just some feel-good practice. We use the term to clearly name the unpaid nature of the work, but the ‘volunteering’ framework is born of the charity industrial complex, opposing NEUROMANCERS’ intentions as a grassroots organisation rooted in our practice of Peer Solidarity.

We know that community organising is the shared responsibility of us all. The labour put into abolitionist care work and building networks of solidarity is equally, if not more, important that the work we have to undertake to survive capitalism.

If you’ve been looking for a sign to join us: this is it.

We’re waiting for you xx

Why should I volunteer?

The world can be an overwhelming place: when we want to make a positive and politicised impact it can be tricky to know where to start – particularly as neurodivergent+ people. Our volunteering opportunities help you be part of bringing abolitionist and care-based realities to life in a structured and consistent way!

As a volunteer, you will receive training and/or orientations relevant to your role, alongside access to our Volunteer Support Fund, complimentary membership, and support from your key contact.

Join the team and help build autonomous, abolitionist, and accessible mental health care for our community.

We'd love to receive your application by 9am Monday 18th May 2026.
