👉🏿Reports to: Aiyana Goodfellow, Executive Director.
🤝🏾Working with: Other Peer Facilitators + Care Programming Coordinator.
🌍 Location: Remote – accepting UK-wide only.
📝 Contract: Freelance. Project-based.
👀 Requirements: Open to: Black + Brown; Neurodivergent+; and LGBTQ+ people only – you must meet all three criteria.
✅ Deadlines: Collectively provide peer support group proposal by mid-October, develop session plans through November – December, and deliver group through January – March.
🤑Pay: £960 fee total, which covers up-to 48 hours total (organisational flat rate of £20ph).

About the Role 🤔

As Peer Support Facilitator, you will co-lead a ten week long peer support group for neurodivergent+ people. You'll work collaboratively with other Peers to propose, design, and host a supportive, non-judgemental space in-alignment with NEUROMANCERS values.

This peer support group will be specifically for and by Black or Brown LGBTQ+ people, who are also neurodivergent+.

Experience:

  • Peer support facilitation of small groups

  • Working collaboratively with others

  • Knowledge of a wide-range of neurodivergent+ experiences

Responsibilities:

  • Propose your plan for the ten-week group

  • Support and contribute to promotion materials

  • Facilitate the space with compassion and commitment to non-pathologising and consent-led practices

  • Reflect on your experience to support further learning and development

Alongside the above, we expect all those working within NEUROMANCERS to be...

  • Self-identified as neurodivergent+

  • Organised, responsible, and reliable communicators

  • Able to navigate technology such as email, Canva, or web meetings

  • Aligned with NEUROMANCERS’ goals and values

  • Knowledgeable about non-clinical peer support practices, Disability Justice, prison, police, and psychiatric abolition, and the neurodiversity paradigm

  • Committed to anti-racism, LGBTQ+ rights, anti-speciesism, anti-ableism, and total liberation for all
