Rest In Power Jason Arday πŸ•―οΈ

We’re devastated to learn of the loss of Jason Arday this weekend.

This is not the first, nor will it be the last time we lose a Black person to the racist attacks fascists take such pleasure in.

This hits especially hard for Black autistic people, who intimately understand the specific intersection of violence targeted at us.

If grief is sitting heavy on you today, I wanted to remind you of that our Peer Helpchat is open today (Sunday) as well as Tuesday from 11.30am to 1.30pm. As a peer-operated listening service, we offer emotional support, processing, and affirmation for this or any other challenges you may be experiencing. β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

Everyone experiences loss differently β€” if you’d prefer distraction, we have a body-doubling session today from 2pm β€” 3.30pm. This is a supportive space to get anything you need done, whether cleaning, journalling, life admin, or making yourself a meal. You can do it with the (virtual) presence of your peers.

Lastly, if you’re a Black or Brown person desiring a longer-form space to process your grief, our Return to Solidarity ten-week online support group is retuning this Autumn.

In the context of our increasingly oppressive climate, we will explore what showing up in solidarity as can be for our Black + Brown, neurodivergent+ and LGBTQ+ selves, communities, and kin. You are invited to explore your relationship to solidarity as an emotion, practice, and context for survival under racial capitalism.

I truly hope these resources can be of use to you β€οΈβ€πŸ©Ή

Love,
Aiyana and NEUROMANCERS xx
