🫶🏾 Reports to: Aiyana Goodfellow, Executive Director.

🫱🏾‍🫲🏽 Working with: Volunteer Community, Other Freelance Staff.

🌍 Location: Remote – accepting UK-wide only.

📝 Contract: Freelance. One (1) year. Fixed term (extension dep. on funding).

Hours: One (1) day / eight (8) hours per week. One full day each week, preference for those who can commit to Mondays.

🤑Pay: £7680 (organisational flat rate of £20ph). Paid monthly on receipt of invoice.

About the Role 🤔

As Operations + Capacity Lead you will effectively design NEUROMANCERS' administrative systems, develop our value-aligned approach to HR, and maintain excellent financial records.

You will be responsible for independently handling our operations and establishing access-centred and person-centred infrastructure which will support the organisation for years to come.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to explore more radical approaches to organising within a non-profit legal structure and is passionate about humans, community, and accessible administration.

Experience:

  • Experience with governance and financial management, ideally for CICs

  • Confidence with financial management tools, self-organisation, and accessible written communication

  • Knowledge of financial strategy techniques and the mental health funding landscape

  • Taking initiative while working independently and collaboratively

  • Maintaining efficiency and attention-to-detail

Responsibilities:

  • Establishing and improving scalable operations systems

  • Ensuring our remote organisation is using optimal and affordable privacy-first softwares

  • Developing financial strategy and best practices

  • Liaising with accountants, funders, and other financial partners

  • Data, finance, and grant management

  • Handling contracts and compliance checks

  • Stewarding volunteers, including supervision, onboarding, and time-management

  • Developing value-aligned policies and HR practices

  • Implementing disability-affirming, capacity-building infrastructure

  • Managing grassroots partnerships with fiscal sponsors

  • Sourcing further funding and assisting with applications

  • Supporting care programs delivery and evaluation

  • Self-identified as neurodivergent+

  • Organised, responsible, and reliable communicators

  • Able to navigate technology such as email, Canva, or web meetings

  • Aligned with NEUROMANCERS’ goals and values

  • Knowledgeable about non-clinical peer support practices, Disability Justice, prison, police, and psychiatric abolition, and the neurodiversity paradigm

  • Committed to anti-racism, LGBTQ+ rights, anti-speciesism, anti-ableism, and total liberation for all
